Dedicated, bare-metal server, not shared with any other user
BrandHP ProLiant DL380p Gen8, with redundant PSU and fans
Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3, 8 cores, 16 threads, 3.3 GHz, 20 MB cache
32 GB DDR4 ECC
2 x 140 GB NVMe SSD, RAID1 mirroring, encrypted filesystem for the OS
2 x 2 TB NVMe SSD, RAID1 mirroring, for public blockchain data
10 Gbps upload and download, unlimited, unmetered traffic
Normally a validator node does not use anything close to this much bandwidth, but in case the Aleph Zero network ever gets DoS (denial of service) attacked in the future, you want your staked AZEROs on a server that is as resistant to such attacks as possible, and there is no better solution for that than having multiple times the bandwidth of normal operation. The team requires a 100 Mbps connection for a node, our server has 100x times more than that.
Central Europe (Budapest)
Multiple, independent electricity providers,
Redundant circuits with redundant uninterrupted power supplies,
Components are tested annually, SLA: 99.9% over the last 10 years
Temperature always 24 °C ±3 °C,
Emergency backup ventilation system
Alarm and surveillance system,
Security guards 24/7
Besides the 10 Gbps unlimited connection (which is a pretty rare feat), and the controlled conditions, they also provide us extensive direct connections to the largest internet backbones of Europe, so our pings to other validator nodes should also be really fast, resulting a quicker contribution to the consensus.

staking works
Staking
WorksThere is only one: if the node's operator tries to cheat the Aleph Zero network by modifying the node's code, his own stake and also his nominators' stake are both subjects of slashing, which causes a (partial) loss of funds, both for him and for you. As the node's owner also risks his own funds, this is an extremely improbable event, but it is still wise to choose a node whose owner you trust to minimize the risk.
They do not generate more rewards for you, because they have to distribute their more rewards among more nominator stakes (compared to nodes with less stake), so the reward-per-staked-AZERO is exactly the same between big nodes and smaller nodes.
You won't get more rewards from a bigger node, but we can still assume that if a node operator tries to cheat with the consensus, he will probably risk as small amount from his own money as possible. So nodes with higher owner stakes could be generally considered as somewhat less likely to get slashed.

- on the right side of this popup window click your current validator to remove it
- on the left side of this popup window click on BLACKBOT WWW.MACRONODE.EU
- click on the Nominate button
- will take an era for your changes to actually come into effect
--- Case B ---
If you have less than 2000 AZEROs:
- open azero.dev
- go to Network → Staking → Pools
- make sure the ✓ All pools button is selected on the top left (that's the default setting)
- in this list find 🟡 BLACKBOT www.MACRONODE.eu
- click on the + Join button right to our pool
- enter the amount of AZEROs you want to nominate through our pool
- click on the Join button in the bottom right corner of this popup window
